All to play for on season’s final day as top two go for glory

-

A TENSE last day of the season is in store today (Wednesday) as Ceredigion Bowling Association division one top two Cardigan and Lampeter go for the title.

Prior to the latest batch of fixtures reigning champions Lampeter appeared on course to retain the title, but the Rookery green bowlers dropped points against Aberaeron and the following day crashed by 29 shots against secondplaced Cardigan, who banked 12 points to leapfrog their rivals.

Going into the final fixtures Colin James and his Cardi team are a point clear of Lampeter and if Lampeter scoop a maximum 14 points against visitors Tregaron then the Gwbert Road green bowlers, who have a superior shot difference, would need 13 points against bottom side Queen’s Road in Aberystwyth to become champions.
