MP urges shop owners to enter competition
LLANELLI MP Nia Griffith is encouraging shop owners in her Llanelli constituency to enter the Best Small Shops Competition. The annual contest celebrates the creativity of small shops and the important role they play in communities.
All shops entered into the competition will be promoted via an online Indie Retail Directory, and the 25 shortlisted will be invited to a reception at the Houses of Parliament on November 5 to meet their MP.
Competition judges will be looking for evidence of entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and what they have done that will have a lasting, positive impact on their community.
Ms Griffith said: “This is a great initiative to highlight the vital contribution small shops make to our local communities. Whether it is providing unique products or services, supporting community projects or adding to the character of an area, small shops are the lifeblood of our communities.”
