building is open for the bingo every Monday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evening, usually at 8pm. Admission 50p, last bingo books 7.50pm. Gardening and craft show The Pembrey and Burry Port Gardening club are hosting their 37th annual show on Saturday at 2pm. Admission £1.50, 50p for children. There is some free parking. There are classes for experts and novices in vegetables, flowers, fruit, wines, handicraft, floral art, photograph­y, cookery, preserves, art and children’s classes. Registrati­on for entries is on Friday, August 16, from 6pm to 8pm or the morning of the show from 8.30am to 10.30am. Registrati­on will close promptly to enable judging to begin on time. There will be a shop selling plants, produce and books, refreshmen­ts and a raffle. Prizes and raffle winners are announced at 4pm approximat­ely. Llandyfael­og Show This agricultur­al and horticultu­ral show is on Saturday, August 31, in Pembrey Country Park. Lots of classes and attraction­s, crafts,

Free heritage tours These walking tours are every Wednesday morning until September 25 at 10.30am from Cafe Lolfa, Stepney Road. Enquiries to 07946 583110. Singing For the Soul These meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in Jerusalem Chapel Vestry. All are welcome. Group singing has a host of benefits like improving breathing, posture, mental health, confidence and self-esteem. No experience necessary. Cost £3 per session to include refreshmen­ts. Car boot sales These continue every Saturday, weather permitting, at the harbour field, Burry Port, at £6 per car, vans, cars with trailers, campervan and people carrier size cost £9. Large vans and trade sellers are £16. No more than two tables or additional

tables are £2 each. No reservatio­n of pitches as they are on a first come first served basis. Please do not set up or arrive before 7am for the benefit of volunteers and nearby houses. Please remove all unsold items and litter before you leave.

Ty Golau Group Because of a summer break the next session will be on September 4. This is a health and wellbeing group for people with slight memory problems, Alzheimer’s/dementiaty­pe illnesses and meets every Wednesday at Mynyddygar­reg Community Hall from 10.30am to noon. Activities include reminiscen­ce therapy, themed quizzes, singalongs, simple cookery and much more. Why not come along, keep your brain active, meet new friends and have some fun. Cefn Sidan U3A Meetings in August are cancelled for a summer break except for the annual outing to Gloucester on Monday, leaving at 8.30am with the usual pick-ups.
