Gardening and crafts show The 37th annual Gardening and Crafts Show will be held at Pembrey Memorial Hall on Saturday. Competitors may register on the Friday, 6-8pm, or Saturday, 8.30-10.30am. Free schedules (which include entry forms for those competing – and everyone is welcome to compete) are available at local shops or from show secretary, county councillor Hugh Shepardson, on 01554 834377 or 833490. Competitors are urged to enter. There are ‘open’ classes for experienced gardeners and ‘novice’ classes for beginners – in vegetables, flowers, fruit, wine, handicrafts, art, woodwork, photography, floral art, cookery, preserves and children’s classes. Show open to the public at 2pm with £1.50 admission for adults,
and 50p for children, payable at the door. Free parking. Sale of plants, garden produce and refreshments help make for an enjoyable afternoon. Pembrey church fete with
cream tea will be held at the church on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26, at 2pm. Admission £2.50 includes a cream tea served at the church hall.
