Champs end with a bang

CHAMPIONS Llangennech brought the curtain down on the All Wales Sport Midweek Cricket League season with a crushing 10-wicket win against visiting Gowerton.

After restricting Gowerton to 89-9 off 20 overs, it took openers James Taube and Simon Clement just nine overs to knock off the runs.

Taube smashed three sixes and 10 fours in his undefeated 64 not out, while Clement struck one six and two boundaries.

Marvel Biju top-scored with 39 not out for Gowerton.

Llangennech will now be presented with the championship trophy, but still up for grabs is the Bowl and the semi-finals are scheduled for this evening.

Gowerton and Llangennech will play each other for a second consecutive week, this time with the venue reversed, while Pontarddulais host Gorseinon in the other semi-final.
