-

LLANELLI Town Council has paid thanks to all those involved with Ysbyty Enfys Selwyn Samuel - the field hospital based in the Town Council’s Selwyn Samuel Centre.

Following a sociallydistanced site inspection of the facility, the deputy leader of Llanelli Town Council, councillor John Jenkins, said: “Today has been a real sobering eyeopener for me seeing the expanded capacity that I hope and pray will never be needed.

“Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude must go to all those who made this facility possible.

“I am proud that Llanelli Town Council was able to help provide the facility, for Paul Francis and Anyone Waiting, our tenant at the Selwyn Samuel Arena for providing management of the facility and to the county council and Hywel Dda Health Board for our excellent partnership that has enabled this facility to be made available to our NHS.

“All of us here in Llanelli can be very proud of our response to this pandemic.

“From volunteer food banks making sure nobody goes hungry, to people shopping for elderly neighbours, to all those involved in setting up the field hospitals such as Yspyty Selwyn Samuel.

“In adversity, Llanelli has shown great community spirit. I’ve never been

Enfys more proud of our town and we pay tribute to all involved helping others.

“Your town council salutes you all.”
