Stephanie J with a very elegant and large black affair and she won strawberries and cream which will be delivered to her door. The meeting was interspersed with the running of the 7pm Bryn Teacake Stakes. All members were entered in this renowned horse race – whether they were present or not. Joan drew horses and riders during the evening, discarding them till only one was left and strawberries and cream went to the winner by a short head – Mavis on the filly Fifty Bales of Hay. Pat D had been looking for icing sugar so she could make her family custard slices. Within a couple of hours of the request going out quite a few packets were left some at her door and members are hoping Pat will make some for the next WI meeting once it is up and running again. Best wishes when to various members who have not been well. It was pleasing to hear that they are all on the road to recovery. Very many thanks have been sent to county and local councillor Gary Jones who has been a volunteering marvel in delivering medication and shopping and even took one of our number to hospital after she suffered an accident, luckily the lady concerned was not kept in, but did need to see a doctor. The meeting closed with a general chat about the proposed re-opening of schools.
