COVID19 mass vaccination centres across Carmarthen- shire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire will be closed to dropins on Saturday due to a national update to the computer system used to record vaccines given.

Scheduled appointments will still take place and people with booked appointments are asked to still attend as planned.

No drop-ins will be accepted at mass vaccination centres in Llanelli at Dafen Industrial Estate, Haverfordwest’s Pembrokeshire Archives, Tenby Leisure Centre, and at Aberystwyth’s Thomas Parry Library on the university campus.

Some mass vaccination centres will not be accepting drop-ins days earlier.

The centre in the village of Cwm-Cou near Newcastle Emlyn was closed to dropins from Monday and Y Gamfa Wen mass vaccination centre at the Carmarthen campus of Trinity of Wales Trinity Saint David in College Road will be closed to drop-ins after 1.30pm today.

Drop-ins at all centres are scheduled to resume on Sunday.

The drive-through mass vaccination centre at the Carmarthen showground at

Nantyci will permanently close at 5pm today.

The drive-through was launched in March last year and was the seventh mass centre to open in West Wales and the second in Carmarthen. Prior to offering vaccines, the site was initially a drivethrough Covid19

testing centre for key workers when it opened in the early stages of the pandemic in April 2020 before opening to the wider public later.

The testing side of the site is also understood to be closing by the end of the month but no date has been announced.

It will mean PCR test appointments will no longer be available to book via the UK online portal for the showground.

People are advised to check opening times of drop-in clinics this week before travelling for their Covid-19 vaccine without an appointment.

Drop-in opening times can be found on the Hywel Dda University Health Board website or by calling 0300 303 8322.

People with parental responsibilities for children aged five to 11 can now book an appointment for their child’s Covid-19 vaccine by calling 0300 303 8322.
