Festival’s two days of music to savour

-

AN INDEPENDENT arts and music festival takes place in Kidwelly this weekend.

Saturday, August 13, and Sunday, August 14, will see the town host the Gwen Gwen Festival with two stages of music in the town and much more.

Main stage headliners on Saturday will be the band Kosheen, while the Gentleman’s Dub Club round off Sunday.

Signer songwriter Kizzy Crawford headlines the Gwen stage on Saturday and TeiFi will top the bill on that stage on Sunday, she is described as a chameleon mixing funny, bawdy, Welsh-English rap, soulful vocals, lush harmonies, and a bit of dance thrown in.

Across the weekend they will be joined by The Allergies Live, Regime and Disco Panther as huge crowd pleasers, as well as rising stars, local bands, solo artists and acoustic sets.

There will be something for everyone and organisers are promising a jam-packed weekend of entertainment.

Gwen Gwen Festival, Kidwelly will also entertain the crowds away from the music stages with some performers of spoken word to entertain and enthral.

Press Speak Not Delete will lead the spoken word stage where audiences can find elements of rap, hip-hop, storytelling and theatre.

Visitors won’t be left hungry either, from gourmet burgers, pizza favourites to spicy street food, sweet treats and vegan delights, the festival will have appetites covered.

There will also be market stalls in the town, with Welsh makers and sellers from across the country and local artisan crafters from Kidwelly.

For the full festival experience there is an option to stay in dedicated camping fields, with either traditional tent camping, campervan and motorhome spaces or the full glamping experience in a VIP field.
