CARMARTHEN Wanderers Seconds recorded back-to-back Premier League West victories with a resounding 196-run win at Ynysygerwn.

The Wanderers elected to bat first and piled on the runs through the first 30 overs when they reached 190-3.

Fine half-centuries were recorded by Eddie Byng (69), Harry Connick (54) and Giles Thomas (63 not out), while Andrew Harley (29) and Henry Moore (30) added further runs to boost the total.

The visitors closed on an imposing 293-7 after their 45 overs.

Ynysygerwn struggled after tea against the young Wanderers attack. Thirteen-year-old Louis Connick was the star performer with the ball, claiming 4-19 off his seven overs.

He was assisted by Zac Harley, who bagged 2-27 off his six overs. Moore, Byng and Alfie Connick all picked up a wicket apiece, as Ynysygerwn tumbled to 97 all out in 28 overs.

Ammanford Seconds smashed records galore as they crushed visiting Gorseinon by 228 runs at the Park.

Batting first, an opening stand of 168 between the two Tiaans – Evans and Sparrow – set the tone before Evans was dismissed for 64.

Sparrow went on to a terrific double century, losing his wicket at the end of Ammanford’s innings having scored 221.

Ammanford closed on an insurmountable 383-6.

Despite a defiant 69 from captain Chris Richards, Gorseinon knew they didn’t have a hope, and fell meekly to 155 all out inside 40 overs. Chief wicket-taker was Iestyn Jones with 4-25.

Llanelli lost by eight wickets at Mumbles, while Pontarddulais saw off Ynystawe by eight wickets.
