It’s tight in a scramble

FOLLOWING the completion of their formal competitions, Carmarthen Golf Club’s seniors played a three-man Texas Scramble.

The winners, getting eight shots, were Haydn Harries, Huw Rees and Gary Evans, their net 57 composing of seven birdies, a bogey and 10 pars.

They just pipped Ian Rees, Mike Inskip and Dennis Driscoll into second with a net 58. They saw off Mick Fenney, Peter Jones and Rob Thomas on countback.

The trio of Aled Owen, Paul McCall and Bruce Morris were in fourth on a net 59, again on countback from Len Davies, Alan Williams and Clive Thomas.

This week the seniors play in a three clubs and a putter competition.
