Otters draw final friendly – now the big tests lie in store
NARBERTH drew 7-7 with Trebanos in their second friendly ahead of the new Championship season.
Spectators were treated to a fast game on a hard pitch, but neither side were able to gain dominance.
The score at the end of the first half was 7-0 to Narberth. The try was converted by full-back Nick Gale.
Trebanos hit back in the final quarter and they levelled the scores when their scrum-half took a quick tappenalty and a flowing move along the left flank ended in a converted try close to the posts.
Narberth coach Sean Gale said: “We started well. We now know where we are with all 13 new boys in the squad today.
“The new faces acquitted themselves well.
“We have given these new faces game time to introduce them to the rigours of Championship rugby.”
On Saturday, Narberth host Ystrad Rhondda (2.30pm). Narberth Athletic are also at home, against Pembroke Tigers (2pm).
