HARRIERS STAR IN BIG MEETING
FOUR Carmarthen Harriers were selected to represent the Welsh Athletics and Welsh Schools Athletic Association teams at the annual midweek Welsh Athletics Under-20 international in Swansea.
In the field, Lili Church cleared 1.71m in the women’s high jump.
Morgan Batten threw a new personal best of 51.72 metres in the men’s javelin.
On the track, Jessica Lee clocked 25.43 seconds in the 200m before running the second leg of the women’s 4x100m relay in the penultimate race of the evening.
The 3000m saw Frank Morgan complete the seven-and-a-half lap race in 8:28.81.
All four finished in the top four of their respective events.
Cwrt Herbert Sports Centre in Neath was the venue for the Welsh Athletics Junior under-11, under-13 and under-15 Open Meeting.
More than 40 youngsters from the county competed.

Evans, Toby Anthony, Carter Norris, Joshua Barnett and Aron Hedd Jones.
Representing Llanelli Athletics Club were Anwen Brown, Gwen Johansen, Imogen Coslett, Eleni, Amelie Campion, Darcy Coslett, Mari Wilson, Lyra Roberts, Freya McCarthy, Lily Jones, Sophia Edwards, Tiah Sellick, Deklan Roberts, Kodi PennO’Hare,
Ashton Williams, Charlie Eatly and Oliver Bevan.
There was a second place for Llanelli’s Dean Summers at the St Clears 10k road race in a time of 36:11. His team-mates were David Clarke (41:22), Peter Osborne (44:29), Nick Venables (47:45), Jason Dickinson (48:37), Colin Edwards (50:03), Liam
Thorley (1:00:11), Andrew Morris (1:00:36), Andrew Stephens (1:04:41), Jody Williams (1:04:55), Gloria Edwards (1:05:56), Lorna Powell (1:06:10) and Debbie John (1:08:55).
Steffan Davies and Huw Davies participated at the Ras y Dewin in Llanwrda, finishing in 37:02 and 38:06 respectively.
