PORT GET AWAY TO FLYING START

BURRY Port opened their LTC Mobility Carmarthen­shire League campaign on a successful note when defeating neighbours Pwll Athletic 3-1 at home in the Premier division in midweek.

The home team always looked the stronger and claimed victory thanks to goals from Josh Element, Sam Saer and Wayne Williams.

Pwll replied through Marcus James.

All games last Saturday were postponed as a mark of respect to Her Majesty The Queen, but there was plenty of action in midweek.

A goal by Daniel Hurford was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Gorseinon Athletic in the derby against visitors Loughor Rovers.

Trallwm also made ground advantage count when defeating Bwlch Rangers 3-0.

A couple of goals from Ben Lewis, plus another by Jacob Powler, saw off the visitors.

There were hat-tricks for both Liam Jones and Rhys Griffiths which helped Trostre AFC to a 9-0 win at Killay.

Dan Anderson chipped in with two of the goals, and there was one for Jamie Jenkins.

Striker Danny Smale completed his hat-trick in the 88th minute as Pontlliw clinched a 7-0 victory at Pengelli United.

High-flying Llandovery Town made it two from two when winning 1-0 at Drefach in division one. Dan Pearce scored the only goal in the ninth minute.

Caerbryn also made it maximum points from their first two games when defeating FC Carmarthen 4-2 in their away clash.

Kieran Jones netted twice for Caerbryn, with the other two goals scored by Lewis Rees and Ben Edwards. It was 3-1 at half-time.

After going down narrowly at Caerbryn in their opening league game, Kidwelly Town bounced back when defeating visiting Bancffosfe­len 6-3.

They were helped by a hat-trick from Alex Fry. Jake Smith and Robert Davies also found the net for the Gwendraeth Valley side, while they also benefited from an own goal.

There was a dramatic climax to the game between Llangennec­h and visiting Tumble United.

Just when it looked as if the game was going to end in a 1-1 draw, Kevin Evans scored a winner for Llangennec­h in the 90th minute just as the referee looked ready to blow the fulltime whistle.

Matty Hughes scored the first for Llangennec­h in the 15th minute.

A brace of goals from Fraser Williams was enough to secure a 2-0 win for Evans & Williams Reserves at Dafen Reserves,

Camford Sport proved too strong for Pembrey when winning their home game 5-3.

On target with two of the goals for

Camford was Jack Roberts, and there were also goals for Shaun Dunn, Cian Esney-Jenkins and Micheal Mulica.

League newcomers Llanerch Rovers are off the mark in division two, winning their away clash against CP Suburbs 3-0.

It was a polished performanc­e from Llanerch, who took control thanks to goals from Tayler Thomas, Jay Richards and Matthew Pritchard.

There was a goal bonanza in the game between West End United and visiting Ferryside, with the game ending in a 4-4 draw.

A couple of goals by West End’s Steve Hanford, plus one each from James Doel and Jason Harding, were cancelled out by efforts from Scott Maceachen, Regan Williams, James Yarnton and Liam Jones.

There were maximum points for

Ponthenri, with Luke Turnbull and Rhodri Greene hitting the target in the 2-0 away win against Ammanford Town Developmen­t.

In reserve division three, early pacesetter­s Trostre AFC made it two from two when defeating Dafen 5-1 at home. Striker Anthony James scored two, and there were also goals for Elliot Lloyd, Dai Bastiman and Nick Jenkins.
