THOMAS TREBLE LIFTS NEW BOYS

-

FERRYSIDE kept their unbeaten record intact with an impressive 7-1 win at home to Llandeilo Town in division two of the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League.

As the scoreline suggests it was one-way traffic for most of the 90 minutes, with striker Scott Thomas making his mark with four of the goals for the league newcomers.

Also on target were Liam Lilly, Robert Hammond and Callum Cresser.

Ponthenri can boast a 100 per cent record so far and they made it three wins from three when edging a 2-0 win at home to Pontarddulais Town Reserves.

It was another solid performance from Ponthenri, who secured the points with goals from Anthony Williams and Josh Lemon.

Newly-formed Llanerch Rovers will be happy with their start to the season, making ground advantage count in a 3-1 win against visiting Johnstown.

They trailed at half-time after a goal in the 17th minute from Neil Thomson.

But Llanerch battled back and when the referee pointed to the spot five minutes into the second half it was their chance to square matters. Jay Husbands fired home the penalty.

It was a deserved equaliser for Llanerch, and they took the lead for the first time in the 63rd minute through Matthew Pritchard. Twelve minutes later Morgan Kearney netted to complete the scoring.

Four of the goals for Ammanford Town Development in their comfortable 6-2 win at KRUF were shared between Rhodri Bowen and Lewis Perkins. The other goals were scored by Taylor Harries and Kian Nicklin.

West End United beat Llansteffan 2-0. Pat Lloyd and Dyfrig Frater scored the goals.

After losing their first two league games of the season, FC Carmarthen got off the mark with a cracking 4-3 win at home to Llandovery Town in the best of the action in division one.

For most of the game it was end to end with plenty of chances in both areas. But eventually it was FC Carmarthen who came on top with goals from Terry Maynard, Richard Whalley, Jordan Archer and Tom Walters.

It was hard on Llandovery, for whom Chris Hyde impressed with two of the goals. Sol Lake scored the other.

Still setting the pace at the top of the table are Caerbryn, this despite dropping their first points of the season when held 1-1 at home by Llangennech.

Leading at half-time through a penalty by Oliver Dymond, Caerbryn let their advantage slip when Thomas Ballard was allowed too much space for the equaliser.

Stuart Dunn was outstanding for

Caerbryn.

It wasn’t the best of starts in the Premier division for defending champions Trostre AFC, who found themselves a goal behind inside the first two minutes at newly-promoted Felinfoel.

That is the way it stayed until halftime.

But like the champions they are, there was no panic from Trostre and they took control in the second half with a couple of well-taken goals by Rhys Griffiths, plus one from Jack James.

Sitting on top of the table at this early stage are Seaside, who dropped their first points in a 2-2 draw at home to neighbours Trallwm.

A brace of goals by Ross Sherlock for the visitors were cancelled out by Joel Andrews and Tray Jenkins.

Gorseinon Athletic are riding high, and made it two wins out of two when getting the better of Pwll Athletic 2-0 in their own backyard.

Despite being down to 10 men for 70 minutes, Gorseinon dug deep to edge victory through two terrific strikes from Adam Meyrick.

Below their best at the moment are Loughor Rovers, who suffered a second league defeat in three outings when crashing 3-0 at home to Pengelli United.

It was a thoroughly deserved success for Pengelli, who made their pressure count with goals from Reilly Lewis, James Richards and Sam Lovell.

In the remaining game in the top flight, a brace of goals from Josh Element looked as if it would secure victory for Burry Port at home to Killay.

Brandon Williams netted a third, but it was only enough to earn them a point in a 3-3 draw.

In the big game in reserve division one, it always looked as if one goal would settle the outcome between Seaside and visiting Trostre AFC.

A penalty by Steve Stone eventually

earned Seaside a hard-fought 1-0 win.

There were maximum points for Burry Port Reserves, who beat visiting Llangennech Reserves 4-2. Birthday boy Ross McFarlane was among the scorers for Port, for whom Haiden Tedrick, George Russell and Charlie Taylor also found the back of the net.

The brilliant Ben Williams and Josh Leiland scored a couple of goals each for Trallwm in their 6-1 win at home to Johnstown in reserve division two. Jordan Fuge and Jack Rotondo were the others to get their names on to the scoresheet.

Defences dominated in the reserve division three clash between Pembrey and visiting Bancffosfelen, which ended 0-0.

Top of the table are Caerbryn Reserves, for whom man of the match Darren Jones, Matthew Jones and Ethan Mulligan scored in a 3-0 win at Llangennech A.
