Aled leads Trots home in Bay 10k

TAF Running and Orienteeri­ng had a good turnout in two of West Wales’s major road races, along with the Welsh Athletics Road Relays.

Eight runners from the St Clears club completed the Swansea Bay 10k, with Aled Jones-Davies finishing 106th in 38 minutes 18 seconds. He just edged out his club-mate Luke Evans by 10 seconds and seven places.

Other Trots finishers: 305 David Daly 43.33; 399 Steve Dawson 44.45; 702 Kate Lynock 49.39; 1072 Anthony Dew 54.03; 1901 Yvonne Davies 1:04.59; 2122 Angharad Dew 1:08.59.

Twelve runners from Trots completed the Llanelli Half Marathon, led by Andrew Salmon in 172nd in a time of one hour 46 minutes.

Welsh Athletics Road Relays in Pembrey: F35 team (Mair Morgan 27.49, Janette Reynolds 30.11, Mel Holliday 25.07) 8th.

M35 team (Simon Scurrell 24,35, David Daly 25.00, Ben Hutchison 20.32) 10th.

Manon Phillips was a clear winner of the primary girls’ race, held in conjunctio­n with the Welsh Athletics Road Relays at Pembrey.

She clocked five minutes 38 seconds to finish 12 seconds clear of the runner-up from Cardiff AC.

There were two age-group winners from Trots in the Pembrokesh­ire Half Marathon at Dale. Joanne Bowes won the F50 category and Margaret Powell won the F60 category.
