A LLANELLI primary school has been using pedal power as it launches its bike to school week.

Brynteg school in Llwynhendy kicked off the five-day initiative on Monday to encourage pupils and staff to be active and to cycle to school.

Dolen Teifi Transport For All provided two electric bikes for staff, and the school is also eager for pupils and their parents to get involved in the Beat the Street competition, which is running in Llanelli up until November 9.

The game has been played by more than 120 locations in the UK and beyond and is designed to get communities moving.
