Mike takes the honours

-

CARMARTHEN Golf Club Seniors have played two competitions recently. First was an individual stableford.

Seventy-one golfers entered and again the scoring was excellent, with six players scoring 40 points or more.

Coming out on top with 44 points was Mike Inskip, two points back was Mick Fenney, and with 41 points Jeff Williams was third.

The following week the seniors played in a high/low competition and, as the name suggests, it is the best and worst score of a team of three to count.

This is considered one of the hardest formats that the seniors play, and with a score that was only three under the par the winners on 75 points were Len Davies, Clive Thomas and Alan Williams.

One point behind in second were Mick Fenney, Peter Jones and Rob Thomas. Two teams scored 73 points and on countback Alan Lewis, Ken Gealy and Ray Sinden just pipped Rob Lincoln, Brett Walker and Dai Elias.

This week the seniors look forward to another individual stableford.
