SEASIDE SEAL CUP PROGRESS
SEASIDE are through to the third round of the West Wales Intermediate Cup following a hard-fought 4-2 win at Llandarcy.
Apart from being gifted an own goal, Seaside took control thanks to goals from Joel Andrews, Joey Lloyd and Ben Honeybun.
Also through to the next round are Felinfoel, for whom Jordan Badman netted twice in a 6-1 win in the allCarmarthenshire League tie at Drefach.
The home team were under pressure for long periods, and conceded four more goals to Tom Roberts, Chris James, Dylan Austin and Matthew Ellis.
But two of the Premier division clubs were knocked out of the competition.
Pengelli United went down 2-1 away to South Gower in Scurlage.
A goal from James Richards wasn’t enough to save Pengelli, and South Gower booked their place in the next round courtesy of Ieuan Priede and Bruno Morris.
And Gorseinon Athletic suffered a heavier defeat, crashing 6-2 at home to Pembrokeshire League division two opponents Milford United. Striker Liam Parks was on fire with four of the Milford goals, while Ieuan Hawkins scored the other two.
The much-awaited tie between Carmarthenshire League Premier division champions Trostre AFC and Pembrokeshire League giants Hakin United was one of a number to fall foul of the weather, and it has been rearranged for Saturday, November 19.
Another Carmarthenshire League side to have their interest in the cup ended were division one side Llangennech, who lost 3-1 at home to Pembrokeshire side Clarbeston Road.
Alex Davies netted for the hosts, but goals by Ben John, Steff Williams and Jake Booth took the visitors into the third round.
Evans & Williams beat Swansea League side Blaenymaes 4-1 on their 3G pitch at Coleg Sir Gar.
In search of an early breakthrough, the Albies needed to look no further than Sion Williams as he slotted home after a run from Tom Lavender set him up in the ninth minute.
They doubled their lead soon after when Bruno Forkuoh scored. Blaenymaes pulled a goal back when Kieran Meredith got on the end of a through ball.
The second half saw the Albies regain control and they eventually put the game beyond doubt with late goals after Callum Pym had been red-carded. Forkuoh from the penalty spot and Lavender wrapped up the victory in injury time.
Dafen Welfare are enjoying a fine season. They visited Carmarthenshire Premier division high flyers
Burry Port and came away with a 5-2 win after goals from Rory Johns (2), top scorer Lenny Evans, and substitute Craig Frater (2), making an immediate impact on his debut following a recent switch from Pontarddulais Town.
Meanwhile, in round three of the FAW Trophy, CK Swiss Valley travelled to Bridgend to play unbeaten Ardal South West League club Cefn Cribwr and were unlucky to go out on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
An early Michael Murphy penalty had given CK the lead, which they held on to until late in the game.
The LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League programme was also affected by the weather and only three games survived. There were no games played in the Premier division.
In the best of the action, Pontarddulais Town Reserves climbed into fourth place in division two after a stunning 10-3 win at home to West End United. Four of the goals were scored by Joel Beynon, who took only two minutes to open his account.
There was a hat-trick for Cameron Davies, a couple of goals for Dominic Abramo, plus one for Steffan Robinson.
And in division two, Llanerch Rovers beat Ammanford Development 5-2 thanks to goals from Jay Husband (2), Dan Price, Tyler Howells and Matthew Pritchard.
The Ammanford scorers were Owen Davies and Fin Jefferies.
