PLANT OF THE WEEK

-

Chrysanthemum ‘Mei-Kyo’ Maybe you last saw chrysanthemums, or garden mums as they are also known, in your granny’s flowerbed and think they are a bit old fashioned. But you’d have to be very fussy to turn up your nose at all these lovely pink pompom flowers in November. Providing welcome colour in neat bushy mounds, these will do well in most soils with a bit of sunshine. Just cut back in March to prevent them getting leggy and pinch out the tops of the stems in June to encourage more sprays of flowers.
