RALF THE HERO IN LATE DRAMA

-

RALF McGibney scored an 87thminute winner for Llangennech, who beat visiting Tumble United 3-2 in the Premier division of the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League.

Llangennech started the brighter, taking the lead in the 18th minute through Alex Davies.

The goal was cancelled out 19 minutes later when the referee awarded Tumble a penalty and Dominic Saunders made no mistake with his spot-kick.

Although Liam Griffiths regained the lead for Llangennech four minutes into the second half, they let the advantage slip for a second time when Steffan Howard made it 2-2 in the 56th minute.

Just when the contest looked like ending in a draw, McGibney emerged as the hero for Llangennech.

In the one game in division one, title-chasing Ferryside had to settle for a point in the 2-2 draw at home to lowly CK Swiss Valley Reserves. All the goals were scored in the first half.

Trailing 2-0 at one stage, Ferryside hit back to rescue a draw thanks to strikes from James Yarnton and Robert Hammond.

There is no change at the top of division two, with Ammanford AFC Development setting the pace following a hard-fought 3-2 win at home to Pengelli United.

Leading 2-0 at half-time, Ammanford secured three precious points thanks to goals from Fin Brownless, Daf Evans and Yusuf Aslam.

Pengelli were rewarded with goals from Richard Quinn and Shaun Rees.

With three games in hand, Bwlch Rangers have the leaders in their sights after a crucial 1-0 win at Gorseinon Athletic.

The only goal was scored in the 65th minute, with Shane Price giving the goalkeeper no chance with a header.

Outstanding for Bwlch was 16-year-old left-back Leon Jenkins.

West End United were on the wrong end of a 19-0 scoreline at Kidwelly Town. Leo Boucher scored five, Ryan Esney four and there was a hattrick for Jaydon Campbell.

Luc Fitzpatrick and Jethro Smith chipped in with a couple of goals each, while also on target were Celt Esney, Rhys Matthews and Jordan Howells.

In the only game in reserve division one, second-placed Seaside were full value for the 2-0 win at home to Camford Sports.

The deadlock was broken on the half-hour by James Cresser, and five minutes later the home team doubled their advantage when Curtis Phillips fired home a penalty.

Caerbryn Reserves are through to the semi-finals of the Darch Cup following a comfortable 3-0 win at Abergwili Reserves.

It took Caerbryn just six minutes to open the scoring as strong link-up play between Aled Saunders and Matthew Jones gave Fraser Williams the chance to volley past the goalkeeper.

Just before the break Caerbryn doubled their lead, Tim Chapman running through the defence to set up Williams for his second of the

game.

The second half was dominated by Caerbryn, with the solid back line of James Kitt-Griffiths, Dylan Thomas, Ben Morgan and Cameron Evans providing a platform for their attackers.

Joe Kinsey and Kieran Jones failed

to convert a couple of chances, but Ben Edwards made it 3-0.

Drefach Reserves beat Burry Port Reserves 2-1. Dan Thomas and Dan Evans netted.

The rest of the programme was again affected by the weather, with 23 games postponed.
