Back to back victories for Shepshed Dynamo

MIDLAND FOOTBALL LEAGUE SHEPSHED DYNAMO 3 TIVIDALE 0 SHEPSHED Dynamo followed up their midweek victory with a 3-0 victory over Tividale at the Dovecote on Saturday moving them up to 11th in the Midland Football League table.

The first half was a quiet affair with very few chances.

Matt Gardner had the first chance of the half on four minutes but his effort was wide, likewise five minutes later with a further effort deflected wide

Tividale had their first chance on 11 minutes with Harvey Walker firing wide.

Liam Read then called Luke Kriskinnia­ns into action on 15 minutes and a minute later Joel Cartas effort was blocked.

Dynamo took the lead on 33 minutes, Michael Reeves, rifling past Kriskinnia­ns after intercepti­ng the goalkeeper’s initial clearance.

Carta had the final chance of the half but his free kick was off target on 40 minutes.

Shepshed took the game to Tividale in the second half looking to extend their lead and claim all three points but they weren’t given an easy passage to victory.

Carta had the first effort of the half bur it was saved by on 49 minutes and a minute later Laurie Pearson was out of his area to deny Nathan Jones.

Josh Morrall’s cross into the box was punched away by Kriskinnia­ns from Liam Read and Jake Betts header was blocked on 54 minutes.

Three minutes later Gardne’rs shot was blocked by Karl Gardner and Read couldn’t convert the rebound.

Gardners next effort was blocked on 63 minutes and five minutes later Kriskinnia­ns saved from Carta.

Read nearly made it two on 70 minutes from Matt Langham’s cross he unfortunat­ely hit the post and three minutes later Liam Hurst’s pull back was cleared for a corner.

Carta then went close for Shepshed on 78 minutes but his shot was blocked for a corner. From Morrall’s corner Joe Pheasant was left free to head home Shepshed’s second.

Elliot Harvey then had the perfect opportunit­y to reduce the arrears but his strike was straight at Pearson.

Dynamo made it three on 81 minutes, Read breaking into the box found Morrall who through persistenc­e broke a gap in the Tividale defence to beat Kristkinni­ans in goal.

Tividale had a further chance to get on the scoresheet but both Jarred Russell and Reeve cleared off the goal line from Joao and Lewis Smith respective­ly.

A deserved three points for Shepshed which moves them up to mid table. On Saturday, they entertain Loughborou­gh Uni FC at the Dovecote.
