Crunch time for Dynamo

-

LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo have one of their most important matches in recent history on Saturday (April 8), when they travel to Rugby Town for a classic relegation ‘sixpointer’.

As the Echo went to press, Dynamo are bottom of the EvoStik Premier League Division One South after a run of seven league defeats in a row, with just four games left to play after Tuesday night’s clash with Lincoln United.

With two teams facing the drop, it is a straight fight between Rugby Town, Dynamo and Northwich Victoria as to who will be the team to escape relegation and Peter Ward’s men will face both teams over the next seven days.

Saturday’s trip to Rugby Town will be followed by another away fixture at Northwich Victoria on April 12.

To compound the problems facing Dynamo, they will be without regular keeper Jack Tolley who has been ruled out for a month with a shoulder injury sustained in last week’s 3-2 defeat to Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The club was given special dispensation by the EvoStik League to sign goalkeeper Hayden Talbot from Coalville for the rest of the season who was set to make his debut last night.

Manager Peter Ward said the team is ready for the challenge ahead, despite injury setbacks.

“The next four games are absolutely vital for us, and we still have a very positive outlook in the dressing room.”
