ARE you ready to get muddy for charity?

Prestwold Hall in Loughborough will be running the 5km and 10km events on Sunday, May 14, at 12.45pm.

Race for Life Pretty Muddy is a muddy obstacle course where you can “show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink”. You must be over 13 years old to take part in this event. Separate starting times have been set up this year, setting off at 11.45am, noon, 12.15pm and 12.30pm for the 5km, and at 10.45am and 11am for the 10km.

The Pretty Muddy Leicestershire route takes you around the beautiful grounds of the Prestwold Estate and airfield. The course has some steep inclines with varied terrains but is mostly on grass.

Hundreds of women will also be lining up for Loughborough’s Race for Life thanks to the 10km event which was launched last year in addition to the 5km run.

Organisers at Cancer Research UK hope the two routes will inspire even more women to pull on their trainers and help raise vital funds for life-saving research.

The 10km event starts at the same time and place as the popular 5km Race for Life course - 10am on Sunday, June 11, in Loughborough town centre.

The Loughborough course starts in the heart of the town centre, in Market Place. The route then leaves the town centre and goes through the beautiful Queen’s Park, and into the grounds of Loughborough University. It then finishes once again in the Market Place. The course is flat and mainly on tarmac paths.

Both events are non-competitive and participants can walk, jog or run their way to the finish line.
