Spot on MP take an early lead in Division One

MITCH Gregory hit a 157 finish for Spot on MP as they beat the Blue Ball Lions 6-3 to take an early lead in Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs Summer Darts League.

Mitch takes over the lead for the highest checkout award in a game that also saw Steve Hopkins hit a 127 finish for the Spot On and Tony Spencer hit two maximums for the ‘Lions’. There were three maximums in the game between Navigation Wagg’s Gang and the Royal Oak Shooters, one each for ‘shooters’ Ant Greasley and Steve Folkes and one for gang member Dave Cox. The 6-3 win for Navigation Wagg’s Gang puts them into second place one point behind the leaders. Last season’s maximum king Andy Hibbert also got his first of the season as the reigning champions Bottom Railway BA got their season of to a winning start with a 5-4 win against the Royal Oak DP.

In Wanty’s Division Two, Andy Wooldridge hit a maximum for his Brush Club AW side as they beat the Tap and Mallet CD 5-4 to go joint top with Shepshed Dynamo Gatecrashe­rs who had a good 6-3 win over the Spot On Lads. Jay Foreman also hit a maximum for the Spot On Dinosaurs as they narrowly beat their local rivals Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals.

In S H Cox Division Three, the Three Crowns Barrow had another excellent win, their 8-1 result against the Generous Briton Dad’s Army means that they have only dropped one point from their opening two games. The Blacksmith­s Blue Army’s 6-3 win over Black Swan JS puts them second, three points adrift.

In Generous Briton Division Four, Spot On Rejects Rob Smith and Richard Woolley both had maximums and Richard added a 110 finish as their side beat Blue Ball B to go top whilst in Navigation Division Five, the Swan in the Rushes Black Pearls lead after their 7-2 win against Crown MA with the Dewdrop Blues in second after their 7-2 win over the Royal Oak Old uns.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Six, the Plough Ernie’s are still top despite losing 5-4 to the Crown Jewels Barrow, and Shepshed Dynamo B&W made it a winning double for the club with their 6-3 win against the Swan in the Rushes Savvies.
