BID team hit by theft of laptops

LOUGHBOROU­GH BID has had two laptops stolen from its new office a week after moving in.

Lisa Brown, the new BID manager, told the Echo that she left the office in High Street at around 3pm on Monday, May 15, before workers from another office in the block left at around 5.15pm.

She told the Echo that when she returned to the office the next morning at around 8.20am, the two Dell laptops that they had bought only a month prior and their cables had been taken, however everything else had been left untouched.

She said that fortunatel­y important documents and informatio­n stored on the laptops had been backed up and that no other documents had been taken.

The new Love Loughborou­gh BID team had only moved into the new office on Monday, May 8.

A spokespers­on from Leicesters­hire Police told the Echo: “We have received a report of two Dell laptops being stolen from a building in High Street, Loughborou­gh, between the hours of 5.15pm on Monday, May 15, and 8.20am on Tuesday, May 16.

“We are currently investigat­ing this and anyone who has been approached by anyone selling two Dell laptops in the last few days we would urge them to come forward with any informatio­n and contact us on 101.”

Love Loughborou­gh posted a message on its Facebook page which read: “Our computers were stolen from our new offices on Monday night.

“Please can you message us if you saw anyone entering 25 High Street (red door next to Purple Pig Butchers) between the hours of 5.15pm on Monday 15th and 8.15am on Tuesday 16th May.

“Also if you have recently heard of any laptops for sale!

“We are able to access emails and take calls and should be back online very soon. We will keep you posted.”
