Sooty is joining in the fun at Conkers

CONKERS, the awardwinni­ng visitor attraction at the heart of The National Forest, is throwing a party this Whitsun halfterm from May 27 to June 4, including Sooty and his friends performing their famous entertainm­ent and magic show for visitors.

Presented by Bonnie Spencer, Sooty will perform three shows during the day on Friday, June 2, and visitors can also enjoy a range of other activities, performanc­es and shows through the half-term week.

Conkers recently opened one of the first 4D cinemas in the Midlands. The 80-seat 4D cinema is showing films that will stimulate the senses and during half-term, it will be showing ‘Little Ants Adventure’.

The Sooty shows and entrance to the cinema are both included in the general admission price but the Sooty shows must be booked at Conkers’ Discovery Centre on arrival. As well as Sooty and the 4D cinema, Conkers will also present Punch and Judy, Lollipop Ponies and Flip the Clown, Ras King Bobo acrobat show, Sublime Science, Dippy the Clown and daily Ranger activities including pond dipping, bush craft, orienteeri­ng, craft shows and a constructi­on derby.

Chris Sturdy, regional operations manager at Conkers, said: “This is the first time that we’ve been able to welcome the legendary Sooty and his friends to Conkers so we’re really looking forward to his show. With the new 4D cinema and range of outdoor experience­s such as the Hi and Lo Ropes, there’s plenty to do throughout half-term, whatever the weather!”

Conkers is the awardwinni­ng attraction at the heart of the National Forest, based near Moira in Leicesters­hire. It offers a unique mix of indoor and outdoor experience­s across 120 acres of maturing woodlands, lakes, ponds, play areas and an 18-stage assault course challenge. Indoors, a British Woodland has over 100 indoor interactiv­e exhibits in four seasonal zones.
