Society AGM
PATRICK Crowhurst chaired the Annual General Meeting of the Sileby Photographic Society which was held on Monday, 15th May, when a review of the current year’s activities took place and new officers were elected to fulfil the various committee positions for the new photographic year, 2017/2018.
Patrick was pleased to report that 2016/2017 had been another very successful year for the Photographic Society as a whole and, with a continued strong membership, many awards had been won at external competitions.
He also thanked the committee members for their much valued support throughout his presidential year.
Once again, Rose Shephard had organised an excellent programme for the Society’s Monday evening meetings, and visiting speakers, together with photographic displays given by Sileby’s own members, had provided interest for everyone, regardless of their photographic expertise.
Colin Machin and Malcolm Coulton were elected as the Society’s President and Vice-President respectively for the forthcoming year.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, 5th June when members of the Society will present a selection of prints and digital images from their own portfolios.
This is always an excellent evening when everyone can become involved to showcase some of their own photographic work.
This will be the last meeting of Sileby’s current photographic year.
With summer now upon us, various social activities/ country walks have been organised which will be held on a Monday evening until September when the new 2017/2018 meetings will commence.
Anyone wishing to join members on their summer evening activities with a view to becoming a member of Sileby Photographic Society will be most welcome to come along.
Visitors and prospective new members are always welcome to attend the meetings which commence at 7.45pm for 8pm and are held at the Sileby Community Centre.
