Ward to stay in the NSG hot seat

-

LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo have confirmed that manager Peter Ward is staying in the role for the 2017/18 season.

After a meeting between Ward and the directors it was agreed that Ward will stay in charge at the NSG with Jay Groocock continuing as first team coach.

Dynamo Director Darren Rodgers said “Peter joined us just after Christmas with the task of keeping Dynamo in Division One South.

“Peter was always positive, and was right when he maintained that things would not be settled until the final day of the league season. Our fantastic run under Peter’s leadership right at the end of the season ensured Dynamo’s safety from relegation.

“We are also pleased that Jay Groocock, who joined the club around the time Peter did and has been a major asset for the club, will also be returning.”

The club has also staged its award night with manager Peter Ward presented awards to: Players Player of the Year: Karl Demidh; Top Goalscorer of the Year: Karl Demidth; Supporters Player of the Year: Jack Andrews; Manager’s Player of the Year: Ash Hodgkinson; Club Man of the Year: Louis Keenan.

The club is also hoping to get local fans on board with the club in order to help to take Dynamo to the next level and is looking to fill a number of roles ahead of the 2017/18 season.

The club is looking for a match day secretary, a kitman, a press officer/ match reporter, a programme editor and a mascot and with the mascot in bid is planning to run a ‘design a mascot’ competition over the next few months.

A club spokesman said: “We really want to get the point across that we are a club that is looking to move forward and we want the local community to be as involved as possible, whether that is by volunteering within the club or getting down to the ground to watch some games.”
