HOME FULL OF UPTOWN FUNK
Bruno Mars is one of the world’s biggest stars behind hits like Marry You, Locked Out of Heaven and this year’s smash hit, That’s What I like.
In 2012 he released an album called Unorthodox Jukebox that reached No.1 in the US and which – perhaps prematurely – is being heralded as a classic.
Bruno has sung during two Super Bowl half-time shows, but a part of the Bruno Mars story emerged recently that has much less glamorous surroundings; a narrow suburban street in Maida Vale, North London.
Pindock Mews is where publisher New Songs Administration was based until very recently. It is Mark Ronson’s outfit, responsible for Bruno’s biggest hit to date, Uptown Funk. The song spent 14 consecutive weeks at No.1 in the US charts.
But the property is soon to become a home, rather than HQ to a musical publishing empire.
Permission has been granted to change its use to residential and it is set to become a three-bedroom home with a large basement. The ground floor would be its kitchen/diner and lounge, with room for three bedrooms upstairs. At the top of the property is an existing patio.
Fans of Sixties TV series The Avengers may recognise the street, which featured as a backdrop in several episodes.
The property is for sale at £1.65m. Lurot Brand (020 7590 9955).
