Knockout Cup quarter finals played

THE quarter final games of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup and Plate Competitions were played last week in the Loughborough and District Pubs and Clubs Darts League. In the top game of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup, Blue Ball Division One side Spot On MP held their nerve to beat fellow division one team Navigation Tap Tappers on the deciding leg. Last season’s Kater 4 Cup runners-up Navigation Wagg’s Gang beat the Tap and Clapper 6-3, and Royal Oak Shooters make it three division one sides into the semi-finals with a 7-2 win against Beacon Yer Lolly. S H Cox Division Three leaders Three Crowns, Barrow complete the semi-final line up after they beat Wanty’s Division Two side Tap and Mallet JB. In the quarterfinals of the Plate Competition, last season’s winners Arena Gladiators beat the Three Nuns Exiles 7-2 and are now joint favourites with fellow division one side Blue Ball Lions, who whitewashed Shepshed Dynamo B&W from Jim Kidger Division Six. They are joined in the semi-final line up by Generous Briton Division Four Crown Rejects who beat the Top Railway DUI’s, and Navigation Division Five Dewdrop Blues who beat Bob Bradleys Tap and Clapper. The semi-finals of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup will take place on Thursday, September 21, at the Three Nuns Loughborough, and the semi-finals of the Plate Competition will take place on the same night at the Bottom Railway Shepshed. Teams are required to be at their respective venues for the semi-final draws which will take place on the night at 8.15pm. For teams that are no-longer involved with the cup competitions that Thursday is the last chance to re-arrange any outstanding league fixtures, as all games must be complete before the final night of the summer season on Thursday, September 28, for the result to count. In Wanty’s Division Two Shepshed Dynamo Gatecrashers beat the Spot On Lads 5-4 to keep alive their slim hopes of catching the ‘Lads’ for third place. In S H Cox Division Three the Blacksmith Blue Army consolidated their second place with an 8-1 win against the Generous Briton Dad’s Army, whilst Black Swan JS narrowly beat the Three Nuns Albion 5-4, and in Navigation Division Five Blue Ball CS move up to third place with their 7-2 win against the Generous Briton Luffs.
