Musical evening hits right note for charity

-

THE Last Night of the Proms has become an established feature in the Shepshed Charnwood Rotary Club’s calendar and this year’s concert, held at St Andrew’s Church in Kegworth, was again a superb evening of music and entertainment performed by the ever popular Hathern Band, conducted by David Newman.

Audience participation was actively encouraged and with a great deal of flag waving the evening sped by. Members of the Club, dressed in their finery, served refreshments at the interval to an appreciative gathering who were soon ready to sing some old favourite songs.

The evening was a huge success and donations were made to both the Church and the charity Prostaid.

Organiser Bill Watson thanked the band, club members and especially all of the audience for their support.

President Alan Darby said the club was delighted to support the church and Prostaid and thanked all who attended.
