Village junction plan has been drawn up

EFFORTS to make a Kegworth road junction safer are being pushed forward by highways chiefs.

Leicestershire County Council is currently consulting on plans to impose no waiting at any time in the Hoyte Drive area of the village.

The county council said, in a statement of effect: “On behalf of Bellway Homes it is necessary to impose a ‘no waiting at any time’ restriction along Hoyte Drive.

“The restriction shall ensure safe egress from the beverage factory, surrounding junctions and restrict heavy good vehicles from parking along part of Hoyte Drive. This will create a safe highway environment allowing for safe passage for all its users.

“This order will see the introduction of no waiting at any time restrictions on the following streets; Hoyte Drive, Howard Drive and Side Ley, Kegworth.”
