Vil­lage junction plan has been drawn up

EF­FORTS to make a Keg­worth road junction safer are be­ing pushed for­ward by high­ways chiefs.

Le­ices­ter­shire County Coun­cil is cur­rently con­sult­ing on plans to im­pose no wait­ing at any time in the Hoyte Drive area of the vil­lage.

The county coun­cil said, in a state­ment of ef­fect: “On be­half of Bell­way Homes it is nec­es­sary to im­pose a ‘no wait­ing at any time’ re­stric­tion along Hoyte Drive.

“The re­stric­tion shall en­sure safe egress from the bev­er­age fac­tory, sur­round­ing junc­tions and re­strict heavy good ve­hi­cles from park­ing along part of Hoyte Drive. This will cre­ate a safe high­way en­vi­ron­ment al­low­ing for safe pas­sage for all its users.

“This or­der will see the in­tro­duc­tion of no wait­ing at any time re­stric­tions on the fol­low­ing streets; Hoyte Drive, Howard Drive and Side Ley, Keg­worth.”
