LET IT BE Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, September 11-15

A CELEBRATIO­N of the music of The Beatles returns to the UK for a national tour and the only run in the East Midlands will be in Nottingham this September.

The show, named after their 12th and final studio album which was released a month after the band split, includes a brand new second half that imagines how The Beatles had they stayed together, set a decade after they went their separate ways.

Producer Jeff Parry says: “Our strong cast of Michael, Emanuele, John and Ben, along with musical director Michael are going to give audiences a show they have never experience­d before – the Beatles’ concert that never was. Developing the show with the new Part II has been a complete labour of love and I am so excited to now introduce this brand new element to UK fans.”

ALL SHOOK UP Guildhall Theatre, Derby, October 17-20

AN award-winning musical comedy based around the early hits of Elvis Presley including Heartbreak Hotel, Love Me Tender, Don’t Be Cruel, Can’t Help Falling in Love and All Shook Up. Set in 1955 ‘somewhere in middle America’, Gatepost Theatre Company tell the story of a girl with a dream, a surprise visit from a mysterious guitar-playing stranger in a leather jacket and how a small town discovers the magic of romance through the power of rock n roll.

It’s a new tale by the Derbyshire-based theatre company and featuring a raft of old hits by The King.
