DRESSED UP TO IMPRESS

-

BRIDALWEAR designer Kate Halfpenny has stars flocking to her boutique shop for their wedding dresses.

It’s the go-to place for wealthy and fashion-conscious people looking for a nuptial outfit which, in the past, has included Kate Moss, Rihanna, Emilia Fox and Holly Willoughby.

Kate is also famous for creating gowns that aren’t the ‘standard white’ and recently even launched a range entirely in black.

Her thick spectacles and shock of combedback hair make her easy to pick out in a crowd, and she recently caused a stir by suggesting that Meghan Markle should wear a wedding dress by an American designer rather than a British one.

When not stitching and sewing, Kate has a home in the fashionable north London borough of Camden where she lives with her art director husband whom she married in 2014 at a lavish wedding that – as you might expect – featured one of her own creations and 21 bridesmaids.

But the couple also have a second home in the up-and-coming Kent seaside town of Whitstable, which they are now selling.

It’s a clapper-board terraced cottage near to the town centre that’s been stylishly refurbished by the couple.

For sale at £365,000 it has three floors, two reception rooms, a fitted kitchen, three double bedrooms and a rear garden.

It’s being sold with no onward chain as Kate has already bought another property in nearby Faversham.
