Loughborough Foxes hit six as they receive trophy
WOMEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE MIDLANDS DIVISION ONE LOUGHBOROUGH FOXES WOMEN 6
SPORTING KHALSA WOMEN 0 A THOROUGHLY professional afternoon from Loughborough Foxes saw them put six past visitors Sporting Khalsa Women before lifting the Women’s Premier League Midlands Division One title.
Khalsa nearly spoiled the party early doors as their Number 14 latched onto hesitation at the back but her lofted effort dropped the wrong side of the bar, as the ball clipped it on its way over.
The effort drove the hosts on, and scored the opener moments later, Victoria Brackenbury turning home an effort to open the deadlock and send the Foxes on their way. Eva Rogers soon made it two sliding home after good work down the wing by Lindsey Tugby.
Foxes were in the party mood and notched a further two goals before the interval. Tiana Hicks fired one across the goalkeeper and Chloe Young turned one in off the post with her left foot to lead 4-0 at the break.
Foxes added a further two goals after the interval through Charlotte Cooper and Laura Steele who scored directly from a corner kick.
Foxes extend their unbeaten run to 21 games and have one fixture left to ensure they become the invincibles of the 2017/18 season.
