Fight in Radmoor Road

FIVE peo­ple have been ar­rested fol­low­ing a fight in Radmoor Road, Lough­bor­ough, on Fri­day af­ter­noon (May 11).

Of­fi­cers were called to the street just af­ter 1.20pm, fol­low­ing a re­port of a large fight.

Four men – a 20-year-old, a 19-year-old, and two 18-year-olds – and a boy, aged 16, were ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of at­tempted mur­der and have now been re­leased un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

En­quiries are con­tin­u­ing.

A 17-year-old youth was taken to the Queen’s Med­i­cal Cen­tre in Not­ting­ham. He is now in a sta­ble con­di­tion and has been moved to Not­ting­ham City Hos­pi­tal.

De­tec­tive In­spec­tor Mark Par­ish is lead­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion. He said: “This fight in the street has left one young man in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion in hos­pi­tal and I’d like to hear from any­one who may have in­for­ma­tion about why this hap­pened.

“Were you in the area of Radmoor Road just be­fore 1.20pm on Fri­day, and see any­thing that may have been hap­pen­ing in the run up to this fight? We know from en­quiries that there were a lot of peo­ple in the area at the time. Of­fi­cers have spo­ken to many of them, so if you’ve come for­ward al­ready, thank you.

“But I still need to speak to any­one who thinks they may have any in­for­ma­tion to help with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion. No mat­ter how small it may seem, it might help us piece to­gether what came just be­fore this in­ci­dent broke out in Radmoor Road.”

Radmoor Road was closed through­out the af­ter­noon and even­ing to al­low of­fi­cers to carry out their en­quiries. It has since re­opened to pedes­tri­ans and traf­fic.
