£5m revamp at the Quorn Grange Hotel
BUILDING work on the Quorn Grange Hotel site is beginning this week as part of a £5m development project.
The hotel is owned by the GFTU (General Federation of Trades Unions) Educational Trust, which is a charity.
Doug Nicholls, secretary of the Educational Trust said: “Our hotel serves the national not for profit and commercial business sectors and the local community.
“Over the last few years our clients have told us that we need more hotel bedrooms and bigger function spaces to meet their demands for social, wedding, conference and meeting facilities.
“They have also said that some good quality rental accommodation on site would be a bonus. So we have agreed and will be building 25 new bedrooms, meeting and function rooms and rental accommodation over the next twelve months.”
He continued: “The building work will not interrupt our award winning gardens and spectacular country views so attractive for our weddings and outdoor social event, so it is in fact going to be a bit more than business as usual this year as our number of family, business and community events will increase during the build which is designed sensitively to ensure no disruption to clients’ enjoyment of the tranquil setting.
“As an established part of the local community and with many national customers too we are delighted to welcome visitors to find out more about our work in progress.”
