New dealership opening in town

Loughborough Echo - - LETTERS -

LOUGHBOROUGH Kia is to open a new dealership in the town on the site of the former Luffield Citroen dealership, which closed in January.

Loughborough Kia is actually based in Mountsorrel where it started firstly as Skoda dealers and Kia dealers in 2003.

Oli Johnson, operations director, said: “Due to the success of Kia we’ve been looking for a new, bigger, site for just over a year. The Mountsorrel site will continue to operate independently as a used car sales operation.

“It will be nice to get Loughborough Kia actually in Loughborough! Being between VW and Mercedes places us in good company.”

Renovations are underway on the new branch in Belton Road, which will feature a 300 sq m showroom with a six-bay workshop, and it is hoped it will be open in June.

Asked if the new branch will create any new jobs, Mr Johnson said: “There will certainly be new jobs, more in Mountsorrel but a couple in Loughborough are likely too.

“We’re a small family business and we make sure we instil family values in all areas of the business, providing family-like-care to our customers.

“We have been recognised by Kia globally for our outstanding customer service and are confident that this will make us stand out in a crowded row of car dealerships in Loughborough.”
