Family friendly Folk Picnic is heading to Bradgate Park

LOCAL and national names will join a celebratio­n at Bradgate Park with a family friendly Folk Picnic music day on Sunday, August 19.

Bring a picnic, relax and enjoy a great day out in the wonderful setting of Bradgate Park, Leicesters­hire’s historic deer park.

A fantastic line-up of acts will feature.

The event will open with Grand Union 3, followed by Kodiak Shack. Also joining the day are Paul McClure, Vikki Clayton, Grace Petrie and Moore, Ross and Rutter, while Lady Maisery are headlining the event.

This is a chance to see and hear national and local acoustic/folk songwriter­s in the wonderful setting of Bradgate House Ruins.

Bring a picnic, relax and listen to superb music. No alcohol sales, so bring your own.

Alonzi ice cream will have their popular ice cream bikes in the Ruins, and the Trust will be selling tea, coffee and cold drinks on site.

Bradgate Park Trust volunteers will be have a number of displays and some simple activities for younger visitors including activities inspired by Bradgate Park.

Tickets are £15 per person. Children under 10 are free to attend - but please ask for a child ticket, or download on booking from https://www.bradgatepa­rk. org/Event/folk-picnic

Tickets can be purchased at the Shop and Visitor Centre, or by phone (with payment by credit card) on 0116 236 2713 extension 25 between 11am and 3.30pm. If you wish to have tickets posted to you there is an additional £1 admin charge to cover postage (just one charge for all tickets). Otherwise please arrange to collect them at the Visitor Centre which is in the heart of the Park and open daily.

Car parking of £4 is pay and display on the day and not included in the ticket price.

Start time is noon (entrance to the Ruins from 11am via the East Gate nearest the Visitor Centre side of the Ruins, and the Ruins close at 8.15pm.

Due to the amount of picnics and young children, other than assistance dogs - no dogs allowed.

Car parking at the three Bradgate Park car parks is available but charges apply.
