WAGS annual hog roast is hailed a big success

-

A FEW small showers of rain didn’t prevent Warwick Way Action Group’s (WAGS) annual hog roast from being a success.

Those attending the event included the Mayor of Charnwood, Coun Christine Harris, Coun Sandie Forest, and the police.

Vicky Dawson, chair of the group told the Echo: “What a great day for all the people.

“Charnwood Borough Council gave us some funding for the cost of the bouncy castle. We had many other stalls.

“The freshly cooked hog roast, went down very well, with veggie options provided as well.”

Other stalls and highlights included bath bombs by Julie Bates, hand-made jewellery by Sharon Hallom and Forever Living prod- ucts by Sarah Greatrex

Dan with his horse and carriage arrived, but rides could not be arranged due to the winds, however everyone enjoyed petting the horse.

Vicky added: “We had a few small showers of rain, but that didn’t stop all the fun attended by over 150 local residents.

“As usual we had over 90 prizes in the WAGS’ giant raffle provided by local business and it was so nice to see lots of new faces

“A great day out for all the family and we managed to raise £400, which will help towards the WAGS’ Santa’s Christmas Day on December 1.

“Many thanks to all that supported us and my great team of volunteers. We at WAGS hope to see you all in December.”
