Char­ity fund-rais­ing event on the hori­zon at Shelthorpe golf course

SHELTHORPE Golf Course is set to host a char­ity golf day in aid of Hope Against Can­cer.

Put to­gether by Matt Whel­band, a PGA golf pro­fes­sional who runs the Shelthorpe Golf Academy, in con­junc­tion with Id­verde, Charn­wood Bor­ough Coun­cil and Hope Against Can­cer, the event will take place on Oc­to­ber 27 with a Hal­loween theme.

The com­pe­ti­tion is open to any­one that wants to play, in teams of four peo­ple, with a shot­gun start at 10am. Fancy dress is op­tional.

A num­ber of prizes are up for grabs in­clud­ing a year mem­ber­ship to the course for the win­ning team, a year mem­ber­ship to the course for the best dressed team and near­est the pin prizes.

Straw and Pearce Solic­i­tors are the event’s head­line spon­sors with Fod­der and Flute pro­vid­ing cater­ing on the day, and Charn­wood Brew­ery some re­fresh­ments.
