A magical day out for families at Thomas Land

- DAVID GODSALL david.godsall@reachplc.com

IT’S beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

IF you are not quite in a festive mood yet, then you should head along to Drayton Manor Park as its Magical Christmas event opened at the weekend, and takes place on selected dates until the end of December.

Each year the theme park gets a major revamp for Christmas time, with festive lights, snow and shows to get you in a yuletide mood.

Families can go along to Europe’s only Thomas Land which has been beautifully adorned with sparkling decorations as far as the eye can see, not to mention the accompanying festive music so visitors can fully immerse themselves in the ultimate fairy-tale setting - complete with snow showers.

Father Christmas and his elves are also in attendance, welcoming families and their little ones to his grotto at the Castle of Dreams with a special Christmas present for everyone - a magical experience for little ones.

To add to the festivities are amazing firework displays every evening for guests to enjoy, plus sweet treats, mince pies and delicious mulled wine for mum and dad to keep the winter frost at bay, not to mention a meet and greet with Father Christmas’ reindeers at the park’s 15-acre zoo.

There are plenty of creatures to see around the zoo, which also has a large play area, cafe and traditional penny arcade.

Youngsters can get around loads of Thomas Land rides during their visit, and can also embark on train rides on two parts of the park - plus if they are feeling adventurous, they can ride the Accelerator rollercoaster for thrills - which goes forwards and backwards!

And don’t miss the 4D cinema, a great experience that has plenty of surprises in store.

With so much on offer, guests may wish to extend their Christmas visit and stay over in the Drayton Manor Hotel and experience the magic all over again the next day. A Stay & Play package includes an overnight stay, breakfast and tickets to enter the theme park and enjoy Magical Christmas, including a complimentary visit to see Father Christmas in the Castle of Dreams.
