Scaresheep winners are presented with awards...

THE winners of the Scaresheep Festival 2018 were presented with their awards at Shepshed Volunteer Centre’s Annual Public Meeting.

Angie Whitmore, Shepshed Volunteer Centre co-ordinator, said: “We would like to thank everyone who took part, and look forward to seeing you all again next year.” The winners were: Best Household (voted by the public): Winner: The Hairy Baakers (The Whitmores), Runners up: Hogwarts (Keith Brown) and The Baawash (The Brookes). Best Organisati­on/Business (voted by the public): Winner: Old Station Close Residentia­l Home, Runners up: Shepshed RFC and Constella Service Centre. Best Organisati­on/Business (voted by the Town Council): Winner: Constella Service Centre, Runners up: Old Station Close and Shepshed RFC.

The Best Street Collaborat­ion went to Field Street for their outdoor pursuits theme. The winner of the prize draw was Robert Barker who received a hamper.

The 2019 event will be held on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6. SHEPSHED Special Community Bus’s November cash draw took place and first prize was won by Mrs S Waldron, with second prize for Mrs C Hallam. A PATES, Pies & Punch event is to be held at Christchur­ch Methodist on Field Street Saturday (December 1) starting at 6pm.

The Pies are mince pies and the punch non-alcoholic. There will be Christmas sing-along of Carols and Christmas Songs to suit all age groups lead by Daryl Clarke.
