Kater 4 Knockout cup sees nine Division One sides safely through to the third round draw
THE SECOND round games of the Winter 2019 Kater 4 Knockout cup were played last week in the Loughborough & District Pubs and Clubs Darts League with nine Division One sides winning through, the only casualty being Bull and Bush B who lost 7-2 to fellow Division One side Spot On MP.
Last season’s winners Royal Oak Shooters whitewashed the Three Nuns Albion 9-0 to show their intent to try and retain the trophy and Paul Hutchins hit a maximum for the Bull and Bush Lions as they also whitewashed Tap and Mallet CD.
Jake Selby hit his third maximum of the season for the Three Crowns Spookies as they beat the Blacksmiths Exiles 5-0 whilst Royal Oak DP came through a tough game against the Crown Rejects 5-3.
In the other games involving Division One sides Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang beat the Bull and Bush Gatecrashers 8-1, Spot On Waifs and Strays beat the Blacksmiths Hammers 6-3 and Champs AW beat the Royal Oak Oakers 6-3. Paul Williams and Richard Hawes both hit maximums for the leaders of Wanty’s Division Two Royal Oak Bluemoon Foxes as they beat the Spot On Foxes 9-0 in the battle of the ‘foxes’.
The only team to beat higher opposition were Generous Briton Division Four Anchor Hathern who narrowly beat S H Cox Division Three side the Beacon 5-4.

There were also two preliminary round games in the Shield Competition and the results of these were: Black Swan JS 4-5 Crown KM, Plough B 5-2 Bottom Railway CS
The third round draw of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup and the first round draw of the Shield Competition will take place on Thursday, January 2q4, at the Three Nuns for games to be played on Thursday, February 7.
