THE line-up for this year’s Bearded Theory’s Spring Gathering has been announced.
Indie legends Suede headline the Pallet (main) stage on Friday night, legendary British rock band The Cult top the Saturday bill and Sunday is closed by E Street Band member and Sopranos star Steve Van Zandt’s Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul.
The Pallet stage line up continues with newly re-formed 90s indie band Doves, as well as Editors, Oh Sees, The Wildhearts, Steel Pulse, Reef, Hollie Cook, Mad Dog Mcrea.
Punk legends Stiff Little Fingers headline The Woodland on Friday night and on Saturday it’s the turn of Scottish indue-rockers Idlewild. Jamaica’s premier ska band The Skatalites will close on Sunday night.
The Woodland’s stunning hand-carved stage will also play host to punk rockers Pulled Apart by Horses, indie folk trio Wildwood Kin, Mercury Music Prize nominee Seth Lakeman, New Model Army’s Justin Sullivan, folk-poetry troubadour Beans on Toast and a host of other fabulous acts over four days.
In fact, more than 200 acts will perform across the nine stages over fiour days in May and in the brand new Pen and Parchment area there’ll be comedy, spoken word, band interviews, magicians and charity talks from the festival’s chosen charities.
Michael Eccleshall, Bearded Theory spokesperson, said: “The whole team have been working flat out to bring you another incredible line up, and with The Cult, Suede, Disciples of Soul, Doves, Editors, and literally hundreds more acts brilliant acts over four days (plus loads more still to announce), we are confident that we have achieved our goal!.”
The festival takes place in the grounds of Catton Hall, Catton Park, Walton upon Trent, Derbyshire, DE12 8LN from Thursday, May 23, to Sunday, May 26. Tickets from www. beardedtheory.co.uk Prices: Adults (16+): £122.50, age 12-16: £55 and age 6-11: £28. Children aged 5 and under are free but a ticket is required.
