Equality Action’s 50th birthday

-

LOUGHBOROUGH’S Equality Action is celebrating its 50th birthday this year and is compiling a history to tell the story of its contribution to the life of the people of the town and Charnwood, through good times and bad.

And it wants to hear from you.

The group started life as The Garden, Charnwood Community Relations Council in Churchgate in 1969.

Now it is called Equality Action on the Nottingham Road, and is still promoting equality and diversity, dignity and respect, through inclusion.

David Featonby, chair of the group said: “We will produce a book to tell our story.

“Please contribute your memories, pictures, stories and anecdotes so that our history shows what we have all done to help the organisation to grow and thrive, and how we have used the services.

“Please note that we need written permission to use any material you contribute, particularly when people are named or pictured.

“A small group is co-ordinating the production and design and they need your help and contributions.

Please send or bring us your pictures and stories, press cuttings and photos by the end of January.” The contact details are: Equality Action, 66 Nottingham Road, Loughborough, LE11 1EU
