Nine phases planned for the development
NINE phases, with numbered parcels of land, are planned for the Garendon Park development.
Phase 1.
Parcel 1A, of 202 homes, is to be built on current agricultural land, skirting the edge of Pear Tree Lane and the new strategic link road through the site.
Construction work is due to start later this year.
The link road which starts from the A6 with a new roundabout, between Dishley and Hathern will eventually link up with another roundabout on the A512 between Snell’s Nook Lane and the M1 J23, Shepshed.
Phase 2.
Parcel 1B, of 128 homes, is to be built further to the west, the other side of the new link road and skirting Hathern Drive, which is set to become a footpath/cycleway.
Construction work is due to start later this year.
Parcel 1C, of 120 homes, is to be built next to and to the north parcel 1B, with construction work due to start in 2020.
Phase 3.
Parcel 1F (Part i), of 136 homes, is to be built to the west of Hathern Drive, with construction work due to start in 2020.
Parcel 1L, of 200 homes, is to be built further south of the site, on the motorway side (buffered by green wedge) above Coach Road and to the west of the link road. Construction work is due to start in 2020.
Phase 4.
Parcel 1F (Part ii), of 174 homes, is to be built next to part 1 and to the north of the link road, closer to Hathern. Construction work is due to start 2022. Parcel 1K, of 159 homes, is to be built more to the centre of the site, to the east of link road. Construction work is due to start 2022.
Parcel 1J, of 237 homes, is to be built just to the north east of 1K with construction work also due to start in 2022.
Phase 5.
Parcel 1E, of 192 homes, is further north, just below the link road as it cuts across from the A6. Construction work is due to start 2025. Parcel 1I, of 334 homes, is to be built in the centre and to the east of the link road. Construction work is due to start 2025.
Phase 6
Parcel 1G, of 93 homes, is to be built is to the north of the site, closer to Hathern and next to a few further parcels of houses. Construction work is due to start 2027. Parcel 1M, of 105 homes, is to be built to the south, next to Garendon Park itself. Construction work is due to start 2027.
Parcel 1O, of 187 homes, is to the southernmost part of the development, also next to Garendon Park.
Construction work is due to start 2027.
Phase 7.
Parcel 1D, of 291 homes, is on the northen part of the site, bordering Hathern Drive. Construction work is due to start 2029.
Parcel 1N, of 129 homes, is on the southern part of the site, next to Garendon Park. Construction work is due to start 2029.
Phase 8.
Parcel 1H, of 225 homes, is to be built on the east of the site bordering Garendon park and to the west of the present development which includes Maxwell Drive. Construction work is due to start 2031. Parcel 2A of 138 homes is to be built to the north of the site, closer to Hathern. Construction work is due to start 2031.
Phase 9.
Parcel 2B, of 150 homes, is to be built to the very north of the site. Construction work is due to start 2033.
Phase 9 is also set include the Garendon Park visitor facilities, to be provided within the former monastic building and outdoor spaces
