Thringstone
STRAUSS GALA. A charity Strauss Gala is taking place in Thringstone at the Charles Booth Centre on January 30.
The producers have kindly agreed to give all proceeds to the centre.
Tickets are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/charlesboothcentre at £10 and the concert starts at 7.30pm.
A spokesperson for the centre said ‘ We are very lucky to be able to bring this production to Thringstone.
It will be touring nationally afterwards at much higher ticket prices, and we know that we will be treated to a first class evening of wonderful music and fine performances from nationally accredited singers.
The production is cleverly staged and choreographed, and authentically costumed, and will appeal to the romantic as much as the music aficionado.”
Brought to the centre by the same producers as Mozart By Candlelight, this wonderful production with the European Orchestral Ensemble will feature Olivia Lewis and Megan Llewellyn, sopranos, Richard Immergluck, baritone and Peter Wilman, tenor.
These singers have a fine pedigree to their names, with Megan Llewllyn having played Carlotta in Phantom of the Opera.
Recreating the romance of the Viennese Festive season, the performance will remind you of the bygone age of glamorous soirees and Strauss waltzes, with the show highlighting some of the great Operettas of the Strauss family, Kalman and Lehar, including Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow and many more.
