Dynamo in fly on the wall show

LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo are following in the footsteps of Salford, Manchester City and Sunderland and are to feature in a new fly on the wall documentary on the club.

The idea was put forward to them by their main sponsors SportPesa and the documentary makers will be filming for the first time at the club’s next home match on February 16.

Stuart Busby, Dynamo’s commercial and marketing director, said: “SportPesa is a betting company and one of its main values is to give back to the community and the way they do that is through football.

“When we signed off on our partnership with SportPesa they suggested we do a documentary along the lines of the class of 92 and Salford City.

“The documentary which is being filmed on February 16 at our home game against Tadcast- er, will be telling stories from various people throughout the club’s history and what they achieved and stories from past chairmen and people who were involved off the pitch and how the club got to where it is today.

“Cameras will be allowed in the home changing rooms before and after the game.

“Going on from this, they’ll be back at different stages during next season to film from present day at Dynamo and taking us up through the leagues whilst also developing the ADT Stadium showing how progression has moved forward with their involvement.”

The club is currently in the hunt for a play off place in the EvoStik Premier League Division One East and Stuart said there was a real buzz around the club with big plans for the future.

“There is a lot of excitement here at Dynamo this season with the introduction of SportPesa and amazing support from Loughborough firm ADT. Our attendances are also on the rise, slowly but rising and of course it also helps that Lee Attenborough and the team is having an absolutely fantastic season.”

Off the field the club has forged links with Tesco where the club has been staging Dynamo days with club mascot Dynamosaurus visiting the town store giving away free match day tickets and two new sponsorship deals with local businesses are in the pipeline.

Stuart said the club has short, medium and long term goals which they hope are achievable and use the success of Burton Albion as a benchmark for what is possible.

“In the short term we want to get as many people coming through the gates to watch Loughborough Dynamo Football Club. This in turn will provide a snowball effect with more people coming to watch means more turnover coming into the club which in turn will help increase player budgets and also means we can start to give back to Loughborough.

“The town has an amazing sporting history and we take inspiration from Burton Albion and what they have achieved as a smaller population town.

“In the medium term we would love to get a 3G Pitch installed here which will not only benefit the club as a whole but also the community as we know how hard it is to hire a 3G Pitch in Loughborough.

“Long term our plan is to have a community football club playing in the football league and with the backing of companies like SportPesa and ADT we believe strongly we will soon be there.”
